Benefits of clean air ducts

What Chicago homeowners notice after a professional cleaning.

Signs your air ducts may need cleaning

The EPA suggests cleaning when there's a clear reason. Watch for these:

Visible dust or debris puffing out of your supply registers.
Musty or stale odors when the heating or cooling runs.
Recent remodeling or construction that left drywall dust behind.
Evidence of rodents or insects in the ductwork.
Visible mold growth on registers or inside hard-surface ducts.
Allergy or asthma flare-ups that worsen indoors, or a newly purchased home.

Our air duct cleaning process

A transparent, source-removal method that keeps dust contained.

  1. 1

    Inspection & assessment

We inspect your system, use a camera where helpful, and show you what's actually inside your ducts before quoting the work.

  2. 2

    Protect your home

We cover and protect floors and furnishings, and set up the system for clean, contained work.

  3. 3

    HEPA negative-air

The system is placed under continuous negative pressure with HEPA filtration, so loosened debris is captured, not spread.

  4. 4

    Agitate & source-remove

Brushes and air whips dislodge buildup from duct walls so it can be vacuumed out at the source.

  5. 5

    Clean the whole system

Return and supply vents, all main trunk lines, and the furnace blower — cleaning half a system just recontaminates it.

  6. 6

    Before & after walkthrough

We show you the results, offer optional sanitizing where appropriate, and back it with our satisfaction guarantee.

Priced by furnace system — no bait-and-switch, no hidden fees.

Start with a $175 inspection

During the inspection we identify exactly what needs cleaning and confirm your final price. In most homes only the supply side needs cleaning, so your total is often lower — and if you move forward, the $175 is credited toward your cleaning.

Air duct cleaning FAQs

How often should I have my air ducts cleaned?

There's no fixed calendar for every home. The EPA recommends cleaning when there's a specific reason — such as visible mold inside ducts, a rodent or insect infestation, or excessive debris blowing from the registers. Many Chicago homes benefit every 3 to 5 years, and sooner after a renovation, a new home purchase, or if anyone has allergies or asthma. When in doubt, start with an inspection and we'll tell you honestly whether cleaning is warranted. See why late summer is the best time to clean your ducts.

How long does air duct cleaning take?

Most residential air duct cleanings take about 3 to 5 hours depending on the size of your home, the number of furnace systems, and how much buildup is present. We complete the entire job in a single visit unless we find a repair issue — such as a disconnected or damaged duct — that needs separate attention. Your technician will give you a realistic time window during the inspection.

How much does air duct cleaning cost in Chicago?

We start with a $175 inspection so we can see exactly what needs cleaning, and that fee is credited toward your cleaning if you move forward. Whole-system cleaning is priced by furnace count: $550 for one furnace, $950 for two, and $1,250 for three, including unlimited return and supply vents, all main trunk lines, and the furnace blower. In many homes only the supply side needs cleaning, so your total is often lower.

What does your air duct cleaning include?

We clean the whole system, not just the vents you can see. Every package covers unlimited return and supply registers, all main trunk lines, and a furnace blower cleanout. We use professional negative-air equipment with HEPA filtration and mechanical agitation to loosen and capture debris, so it's removed from your home rather than pushed back into the living space.

Will air duct cleaning reduce dust and allergies?

When ducts are genuinely contaminated with dust, debris, pet dander, or mold, cleaning removes that source so less is circulated through your home. Results vary from home to home, and duct cleaning isn't a cure-all — it's most useful when there's visible contamination. For persistent air quality concerns we also offer indoor air quality testing to identify the real cause before you spend money.

Is the process messy or disruptive?

It shouldn't be. Our process keeps the entire system under continuous negative pressure with HEPA filtration, which is designed to contain dust while we work. We protect floors and furnishings, work efficiently, and clean up afterward. You're welcome to stay home during the appointment, though some homeowners prefer to step out during the noisiest part of the vacuuming.

Do I need to be home during the service?

An adult should be present at the start so we can walk the system with you, confirm the scope, and answer questions — and again at the end for the before-and-after walkthrough. Beyond that you don't need to hover; our crews are licensed, insured, and respectful of your home. For condos and multi-unit buildings we coordinate access with property managers as needed.

Do you also clean dryer vents?

Yes. Dryer vent cleaning is a natural add-on to air duct cleaning, and many homeowners bundle both in one visit to save a trip. Lint buildup in the dryer vent is a leading cause of house fires, so if your dryer runs hot or takes more than one cycle, ask us to inspect it while we're on-site.
